Build a place for your Wasp aboard the ship
ATMOSFAR wasp docking pads are the Cloud Cruiser facilities that let you land and store your aircraft aboard the mobile base. The developer's sequence is straightforward: build a Wasp landing pad, approach its associated gate, open the gate, and land inside. That gives your aircraft a place to travel with the base instead of being left on an island.
This guide follows the alpha-era official Cloud Cruiser building and docking explanation. The current Steam description also lists Wasp pads as buildable facilities, but the development details should not be mistaken for a personally tested Early Access procedure.
Approach the gate and land inside
The landing pad is associated with a gate opening to the outside of the Cloud Cruiser. Once the facility is built, the published docking instructions are:
- Fly your Wasp to one of the appropriate gates.
- Open that gate.
- Land the aircraft inside.
The source establishes the facility and entry sequence, not a particular keyboard button or automatic-landing command. Use the prompts in the version you are playing and leave room for the approach.
If you are still in the portable-camp demo sequence, this is a different system. A Camp Hub carried on a Utility Wasp is not itself a Cloud Cruiser pad or a hangar you can fly into.
Refuel, charge, and maintain the docked Wasp
Docking also gives you a convenient place to prepare the aircraft for its next trip. The developer describes using fuel from the Cloud Cruiser's tanks to refuel the Wasp and connecting the aircraft to the ship to recharge it.
Those are different supplies:
| Need | Published onboard support |
|---|---|
| Flight fuel | Liquid hydrogen from the ship's fuel tanks |
| Electrical charge | A connection to the Cloud Cruiser, consuming Power Units |
| Repairs | Maintenance with the Welder and the required materials |
A pad is not a free energy source. Charging a Wasp adds to the base's electrical demand. The Cloud Cruiser's diagnostics unit can display the number of docked Wasps alongside electricity, fuel, lift, and damage information, making it useful when planning an expanded fleet.
The source does not give a universal charge time, per-pad capacity, or complete construction recipe. Check the current build for those details rather than treating an attractive hangar layout as a confirmed specification.
Keep landing pads separate from the cargo lift
The Cloud Cruiser also has a cargo lift for large objects brought by a cargo-capable Wasp. The developer describes that lift as a top-mounted aperture with conveyors below it. It is not the same entry sequence as flying a Wasp through a hangar gate.
The cargo-lift explanation includes an automatic opening when a Cargo Wasp approaches. Do not apply that detail to every docking gate: the landing-pad instructions specifically tell the pilot to open the gate and land inside.
Likewise, the demo's island-platform Recover Wasp interaction is a recovery feature, not evidence that building a Cloud Cruiser pad grants an unrestricted summon command.
FAQ
How do I dock a Wasp on the Cloud Cruiser?
Build the landing-pad facility, fly to its associated gate, open it, and land inside, following the controls shown in your build.
Can I refuel and charge the Wasp while docked?
The developer describes both: refuel from the ship's fuel tanks and plug into the Cloud Cruiser for electrical charging. Charging consumes Power Units.
Is the cargo lift the Wasp entrance?
It serves a different purpose, bringing large cargo into the ship. Use the landing-pad gate for the published Wasp docking sequence.
How many Wasps fit on each pad?
The sources used here do not establish a reliable per-pad capacity. Do not assume a number from the existence of a pad or from a promotional image.
